Other ways to say "I Think" in English.


I Believe

It is very common to use "believe" to express your point of view or way of thinking.

Example:

"I believe it is important to review the document carefully."



I am of the opinion of

A more formal way to express a personal point of view.

Example:

"I am of the opinion that the strategy should be changed."



I Consider

A way to express an opinion which has gone through a period of reflection.

Example:

"I consider it important to plan the work beforehand."



I am convinced

Convinced is used to show emphasis that there is no doubt in relation to the point of view.

Exemple:

"I am convinced this will solve the school´s problems."



I Fell

A subjective way to express opinion where feelings and sensations are important.

Example:

"I feel like she might not be telling the truth."



I Reckon

This verb is mostly used in informal contexts. It means the same as believe.

Example:

"I reckon that the project is going to be impossible."

Phrases to ask questions about the treatments:

- Could I have some talc? I have very delicate skin.

- Could you do it a bit higher?

- Is the massage included in this price?




Phrases to express that you are not happy with the service:

- The massage was very short for the price paid.

- The wax was extremely hot and has left my leg in pain.

- This manicure isn´t great.

When we negotiate in English, especially with people from another country, it´s important to be aware of their culture.

Questions you could ask at the start of negotiations:

- What are we hoping to achieve today?

- Could you be more specific?

- How much are you willing to compromise?



Phrases to make a proposal:

- From where we stand, and acceptable price would be...

- Our absolute bottom line is...

- We´d like to make a proposal...



Phrases to reject a proposal:

- I´m afraid... It is totally out of the question.

- I understand your point, but...

- I am afraid that we have some reservations on that point...



Phrases to Offer a compromise:

- We are ready to accept your offer, on one condition...

- If you would agree to... We could reciprocate with/by

- On the condition that you... We could be persuaded to consider...




Phrases to accept an offer:

- I think that´s fair enough.

- I couldn´t agree more.

- I´m happy with this deal.




Phrases to conclude a negotiation:

- Let´s look at the points we have agreed on...

- Shall we sum up the main points?
